Engine oil from the new Range Rover can leak onto the pavement

Carscoopslite-More than 1,500 2024 model year Range Rover vehicles are being recalled due to a potential engine oil leak issue. The recall impacts vehicles equipped with the 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine, where the fixings used to secure the engine oil cooler hoses have inadequate thread engagement which could cause the hoses to come loose.

A loose hose could result in a significant volume of engine oil leaking onto the road surface. Land Rover was alerted to the potential issue in October 2023 and made the decision to conduct a recall in November. No field reports or accidents related to the issue have been reported in the US so far. Owners will be notified by January 2023 and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealership to have the engine oil cooler pipe fixings inspected and replaced if needed, free of charge.
