Ford Mondeos Arriving in European Dealerships from October - Ford revealed that mid- and high-level variants of the all-new Mondeo are now available to order and will arrive in European showrooms towards the end of this 2014. As we heard that Mondeo range will include Trend and Titanium grades, as well as the first Mondeo Hybrid. The entry-level Ambiente and a Business Edition variant will be available in early 2015, along with further petrol and diesel powertrains and optional all-wheel drive.
As with the current generation, the all-new Mondeo will be available in four-door and five-door body styles, as well as a wagon developed specifically for Europe.
Moreover, at launch, engine options will include the 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engines, with the 1.0-liter EcoBoost to be made available in early 2015. An ECOnetic Technology model will also be available, powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine with projected CO2 emissions of 94 g/km. A 2.0-liter TDCi diesel will be part of the lineup as well.
While for the Mondeo Hybrid four-door, the model combines a specially-developed 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery to provide anticipated CO2 emissions of 99 g/km. Mondeo Hybrid will be the first hybrid electric vehicle built by Ford in Europe.
The new Mondeo will be Ford’s first model for Europe based on the new global CD-segment platform and will debut the new integral link rear suspension configuration that promises improved refinement and more dynamic performance as built in Valencia, Spain.
Furthermore, it will also have a 10 percent stiffer body structure compared to the previous generation and will feature technologies like Torque Vectoring Control, adaptive LED headlamps, Active Park Assist with Perpendicular Parking, Lane Keeping Aid, Inflatable Rear Seatbelt, and also Active City Stop collision avoidance system. This new Mondeo is priced from €27,150 ($36,300), including tax in Germany.
